Dear friends,
If you’re old enough you may remember the Beatles’ hit song in the 60’s called “Help”. John Farnham also did an impassioned version of it in the early 80’s.
And if a modern day artist were to record it, I suspect it could become an anthem once again, especially the line, “Help me if you can, I’m feeling down”.
It is no wonder anxiety and depression are at all-time highs, with so much bad news, disunity, fear, speculation and opinion. Add in the uncertainties of lockdowns, many are feeling overwhelmed.
What can we do? I’d like to suggest three simple things.
1. Ground yourself in God’s truth daily (The Word for Today is a great start).
2. Give your fears and worries over to God. Prayer and praise are key.
3. Look for ways to help others according to Galatians 6:2 NIV “Carry each other’s burdens, and so you will fulfil the law of Christ.”
Jesus said we are the light of the world. It’s time to shine.
In Christ,
