Share The Light This Christmas

Who can you share the Light of Christmas with? Christmas is a tapestry of emotion — a celebration filled with care, kindness, and hope. It's the joy of togetherness, where hearts connect and exchange moments that sparkle with warmth. As we gather, we share more than...

4 Ways to Love Better

I was recently talking with someone about some relationship struggles they were experiencing.  The need for patience was what we ended up with as a critical component to loving better. It’s very interesting, that in the love chapter in 1 Corinthians, it starts...

Compassion and Action

The crewmembers on board Logos Hope all left their homes at one point to come on board the ship to live and work together with others from around the world. They exchanged their familiar environments for a very unique accommodation – a ship – which sooner or later they also call their home for a specific amount of time. They all do know though, that there are many people in the world, who are longing for a place to stay in which they can experience peace and safety. The refugees who leave...

Truth, Lies and Financial Freedom

Truth, Lies and Financial Freedom

Many Christians divide their lives into categories. Some things they want Jesus to be a part of, but not others. Because we compartmentalise our Christian lives, according to Pastor Jeff Vines, we instantly assume that everything we don’t devote to God is neutral. God will still love us, but any area that we withhold from Him and think we can handle on our own is a false assumption. C.S. Lewis said, ‘There is no neutral ground in the universe.’ Every square inch, every split second is claimed...

Does it glorify God?

‘Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.’ 1 Corinthians 1 0:31 NKJV

When you’re about to do something, and you’re not sure if you should, ask yourself, ‘Will doing this glorify God?’ If you follow that rule, you won’t go wrong in life.

Let’s get specific. If you earn your money honestly, then it’s yours to spend as you wish. Once you give God His portion, you get to choose what you will do with the rest. However, your financial decisions have consequences that affect not only you but your family. When you go into debt you can’t repay, they suffer with you. So does your reputation with others.

The question is not whether you can afford it but will it bring glory to God? Will He be pleased? And how about your relationships? You’re single, lonely, and longing for companionship. So, you find someone you really like. Today when unchecked passion leads to sex before marriage, society doesn’t blink at it. But as a redeemed child of God, you are different. Jesus said we are in the world, but not of it. That means we live by a different set of rules: scriptural ones. Perhaps your partner will see your refusal of sexual intimacy as rejection. And they may even decide to leave you. What should you do? Ask yourself, ‘Will this glorify God? Will He be pleased?’

You say, ‘Pleasing God isn’t easy.’ It never has been. And the Bible doesn’t say it will be. But if you want to live with joy, self-respect, confidence, and integrity, you have to choose the right path. And that’s the path that always brings glory to God.
