{"id":14369,"date":"2023-03-19T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-03-18T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lifefmfiji.org\/?p=14369"},"modified":"2023-11-23T08:35:01","modified_gmt":"2023-11-22T22:35:01","slug":"learning-from-lepers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lifefmfiji.org\/learning-from-lepers\/","title":{"rendered":"Learning From Lepers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>\u2018As they went, they were cleansed.\u2019 Luke\u00a017:14\u00a0NKJV<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ten lepers saw Jesus and shouted, <i>\u2018\u201cJesus, Master, have mercy on us!\u201d\u2026He said to them, \u201cGo, show yourselves to the priests.\u201d And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and\u2026glorified God\u2026So Jesus answered and said, \u201cWere there not ten cleansed? But where are the [other] nine?&#8230; Your faith has made you well.\u201d\u2019<\/i> (Luke\u00a017:12\u201319\u00a0NKJV) This story teaches us these three things:  <\/p>\n<p>(1)<i> Sometimes the answer comes quickly; other times it comes slowly, step\u2013by\u2013step. <\/i>The Bible says, <i>\u2018As they went, they were cleansed.\u2019<\/i> You don\u2019t know which step will bring the answer, so you must keep walking in faith. The law of Moses dictated that, before a leper could be welcomed back into society, the priest must pronounce him \u2018clean\u2019. Think about it: Jesus saw the change in these men before it ever took place\u2014because He has the power to make it happen!  <\/p>\n<p>(2)<i> Don\u2019t give up because others reject you. <\/i>As social outcasts, these men expected Jesus to treat them accordingly. But when you draw close to God, He will draw close to you (see\u00a0James\u00a04:8). Are you struggling with an issue that has caused others to cast you aside? Jesus won\u2019t do that. He said, <i>\u2018Whoever comes to Me I will never drive away.\u2019<\/i> (John\u00a06:37\u00a0NIV)  <\/p>\n<p>(3)<i> Always remember to thank and praise God. <\/i>Only one of the ten lepers passed the gratitude test. Would<i> you<\/i> have passed it?
