Watson, said: \u2018Expose your ideas to the dangers of controversy. Speak your mind and fear less the label of \u201ccrackpot\u201d than the stigma of conformity\u2026 Every time we\u2019ve moved ahead in IBM it was because someone was willing to take a chance, put his head on the block, and try something new.\u2019  <\/p>\n<p>Many of us have good ideas that never go anywhere. At some point, you must reduce your list to the best idea for <i>you.<\/i> This isn\u2019t easy, but it\u2019s necessary. Start with obvious ideas that can\u2019t work because of budgets, timing, or lack of resources. Next, pool ideas that may be good, but don\u2019t solve your particular problem. Timing is everything, and some great ideas are just ahead of their time. So keep an \u2018idea file\u2019 and pull some of them out again next year. But here\u2019s a flashing red light: when your circle of advisors help you generate good ideas yet never see you acting on them, they will lose interest and you will end up on your own. <\/p>\n<p> The Bible says, <i>\u2018Faith without works is dead.\u2019<\/i> (James\u00a02:26\u00a0KJV) So commit yourself to a life of creativity, original thinking, and action! If you keep doing what you\u2019ve always done, you\u2019ll keep getting what you\u2019ve always got. The classic advertisement for Apple Computer says it best: \u2018Think different!\u2019 Don\u2019t take yourself too seriously! If an idea doesn\u2019t work, don\u2019t fall apart. Tick it off your list and move on to the next one. At some point you may discover that your <i>good<\/i> idea\u2014is actually a <i>God<\/i> idea.
